Assistive Technology for Kansans.  The statewide assistive technology program that provides a full range of services to people with disabilities and chronic health conditions of all ages.  Services include product information, device demonstration, short term borrowing of devices, on-site assessments, assistance in identifying funding for devices and training.  People may receive quality refurbished devices at no cost.

CCHD diagnoses and develops treatment recommendations  for children with developmental disabilities. Our teams provide assistance to families, teachers,  doctors and others who work with them. Professionals, along with the family,  develop a thorough understanding of the child’s strengths and needs.  Many children and youth seen at the CCHD present developmental and/or  behavioral challenges that are often puzzling to families, physicians or teachers.  The goal is to accurately diagnose the problem, understand the reasons  and recommend the most effective treatments.

Families Together, Inc. is a statewide organization that serves families of children and youth with exceptional needs. The Parent Training and Information Center assists families to be partners in their child's education. The Family-to-Family Health Information Center provides guidance and support for families of children and youth with special health care needs to navigate the health care systems and work with their child's medical home. The Parent to Parent Program matches a parent with another parent who has or is going through similar disability related events.  Other grants from state agencies and foundations support the work of the staff to help families with many aspects of raising a child with exceptional needs.

I would use this for K-CART: The Kansas Center for Autism Research and Training (K-CART) at the University of Kansas, established in 2008 with private and public funds, is a multidisciplinary center that promotes research and training on the causes, nature and management of autism spectrum disorders (ASD). Committed to the highest standards of scientific rigor, K-CART will generate new scientific discoveries about ASD, disseminate research-based practices by training professionals, practitioners and families who serve children and adults with autism, and provide clinical services through the Center for Child Health and Development at the University of Kansas Medical Center.
